my story
Hi there! I'm Morgan Nyerick--a graphic designer, mama, entrepreneur, yogi, and dreamer. My entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 17, when I found myself on a yoga mat. I was battling through many health issues at the time (both mentally and physically), and was on a quest to create healing in my body, mind, and spirit. This mission eventually brought me to yoga. On my yoga mat, I found peace. I felt like I was home, for the first time in a long time, and by the end of my first class I had made up my mind...
I was going to become a yoga instructor.
While my peers were heading off to college, I decided to take a “gap year” to complete my yoga teacher training, and went on to receive my training from the Kripalu Center in Massachusetts. Rather than seeking out a position at an existing yoga studio, I had the crazy idea to open own! I rented out a tiny room, I painted the walls and decorated the space, designed business cards, set up a simple website, and spent hours walking door to door in my neighborhood handing out flyers. It was my very first attempt at operating a small business, and I was hooked. I felt a sense of empowerment, freedom, and an avenue for creative expression.
At the age of 19, I briefly meandered away from the yoga industry, and found myself chasing a boyfriend to Virginia Beach--where his family was opening a high end pizzeria, bar, and arcade. I soon excelled from working at the pizzeria to managing it. I created a new menu design (my first attempts at graphic design); I planned and executed corporate events and parties; I monitored inventory and placed food orders; I interviewed, hired, and managed a team.
Both the business and the relationship would go on to fail… but to me the experience was a huge success. I had received an informal,
real-life, practical, hard knocks education in marketing, branding, graphic design, and small business management.
At the age of 21, I moved back to Connecticut--where my Mom and older Sister (both of whom are also yoga instructors) had picked up the dream of running a yoga studio where I’d left it off, and had woven it into a larger, more established business. I began formally studying graphic design while teaching yoga at the studio part-time. The studio soon became a new outlet for my creative energy. I slowly grew into the role of our studio’s one-man-marketing-team. I built a new website, rebranded, updated our logo, grew our social media platforms, and planned and executed our monthly newsletters. I helped establish a Yoga Teacher Training, a Holistic Life Coach Training, and a full service spa. I faced countless challenges and made many mistakes. But through it all, I learned, grew, picked myself back up again, and kept on believing in my dreams.
By 2020 we had grown from a tiny one-room studio to one of the largest yoga centers in central Connecticut. We won best yoga studio in the state for two years running, and I have never felt more proud!
Then, along came Covid-19. At the peak of our success the pandemic arrived at our doorstep--forever altering the yoga industry and our business model as we knew it. After some deep reflection, we came to the realization that the magnificent 10 year chapter of our yoga center had ended, and it was time to move forward. The studio has since closed… but for me, new doors have opened.
I am now thrilled to channel my creative energy, entrepreneurial knowledge, and yogic background into helping other business owners thrive. I offer intentional and thoughtful branding, graphic design, and website design for dreamers, creators, and businesses with soul.
I am absolutely honored to be a part of your journey and cannot wait to help your dream flourish!
